The Galaxy Innovations Avatar 2 combines a powerful processor, a wide variety of functions and an affordable pricetag. It is the first affordable receiver with several tuners. The device has a dual boot function: the user may choose to work under Enigma2 or Spark.
The Gi Avatar2 is a multifunctional device with three built-in tuners – two DVB-S2 and one DVB-T2/C. It can be used as a satellite and as a terrestrial receiver with HD support. The Avatar2 can also be a home media center as it supports playback of popular video formats, music and images.
The receiver has wide Internet functions. It supports popular services such as Youtube, SHOUTcast, Picasa, Twitter, Google Talk etc, you can also install a Web browser to view websites on the Internet.
The developers also included such functions as PVR and TimeShift. The recording may be saved onto an external HDD or Flash drive: the receiver has two USB ports for that.
The receiver supports both wired and wireless Internet connection, with the first using the Ethernet port, but the wireless connection requires an additional USB Wi-Fi adapter (based on RT73, RT2870, RT3070 chips)
The Gi Avatar2 uses a powerful modern STi7162 processor, which allows image to be output from the HDMI port in their maximum Full HD 1080p definition. SCART and RCA jacks are present on the receiver for connecting older TVs.
